Location: North part of Houston

Duration: On-Going / Contract-to-Hire

As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering true Level 2 technical support of our critical web-based applications that are used by employees and customers alike. This individual will work closely with L1 support teams, Deployment, Engineering as well as direct interaction with customers and be part of strategic discussions to continue the evolution of both flexibility and sustainability of our entire product suite.

Duties Include:

  • Coordinate between L1 Support, Content Manager, Deployment, Product, Engineering and other teams where applicable
  • Work as a peer with L2 SRE Teams offshore; L1 on and offshore Management
  • Learn and maintain a thorough understanding of system architecture, applications and related integrations
  • Learn and maintain a thorough understanding of shared services across multiple products
  • Ensure proper RCA is completed on critical and high impact issues to reduce and ultimately eliminate recurring issues
  • Works closely with SRE Manager on technology strategy, solutions, resources, process and compliance
  • Participate in Disaster Recovery activities and preparation as required
  • Availability to work extended hours as needed including some nights and weekends, and participate in a 24x7 SRE On-Call Rotation
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Skills / Qualifications Required:

  • 4+ years of experience in a technical operations support role
  • 2+ years of experience and strong working knowledge with Amazon Web Services (experience with Azure or GCP also considered)
  • Develop and refine strategy and process for all support issue tracking from intake through resolution
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional work-ethic, time management skills, dependability and a demonstrated commitment to teamwork
  • Superior problem solving and deductive reasoning skills, for complex multiplatform issues including legacy and CX suite of products with minimal transparency
  • Work closely with Platform team to understand and improve system monitoring/alerting
  • Experience with APM tools such as Dynatrace, New Relic, DataDog, Nagios and Splunk would be a plus
  • Working knowledge of and ability to execute queries against SQL RDBMS such as DB2, Postgres (AWS Aurora highly preferred)
  • Strong collaboration skills

Skills / Qualification Preferred:

  • BS/BA or equivalent work experience
  • IT Certifications (A+, CSP, MCP, etc.) considered a strong advantage
  • Working knowledge of NoSQL used in Elastic Search
  • Working knowledge of IBM Integration Bus
